This may involve using tethering systems, tool lanyards and debris nets to safeguard objects from falling. Additionally, establishing clear zones of operation and providing adequate training for equipment operators can help minimize the risk of collisions and struck-by incidents.

Machinery accidents

Construction sites are awash with various types of machinery and equipment, ranging from excavators and bulldozers to power tools and heavy machinery. Accidents involving these pieces of machinery can result in severe TBIs, especially if proper safety precautions are not followed.

Common causes of machinery-related TBIs include improper operation, equipment malfunction and lack of training. To help prevent machinery accidents, construction workers should undergo comprehensive equipment operation training.
